Smithfield Market, Dublin

The scheme establishes a new urban edge to the west side of Smithfield Square and creates a new smaller square – Museum Square, allowing access to the major elements. The scheme provides 120,000 sqm of residential lead, mixed use space with Residential Apartments, offices, restaurants, retail, a museum, exhibition space, and workshops.

Paul’s role in this large redevelopment scheme was to oversee all aspects of health and safety. Consulting with the client and principal contractor to identify, eliminate and control foreseeable risks, ensuring designers carry out their duties and provide relevant information to other duty holders was a daily task. A technical knowledge of the construction industry is paramount on a project of this size. Paul provides the understanding and skillset to manage and co-ordinate the pre-construction phase in order to put it into practice onsite. With a can do attitude, open mind and creativity to unravel the most complex problems, Paul can create exceptional, sustainable health and safety solutions for a better built environment.
